In this comedy, the women who run the reference department at the a broadcasting network, affectionately referred to as "the desk set", feel their jobs as the "human brains" of the operation are being threatened by the introduction of new technology. And when the computer prints them each a pink slip, their world of corporate mergers, increasing workloads and on-and-off office romances is turned upside down! Though set in the 1950's, The Desk Set offers a good laugh to all of us who are struggling to stay afloat in this unstable economy.
